Griffith Barbee is pleased to welcome Ellie Johnson as a commercial and IP litigation associate.
“We’ve been lucky to have Ellie working with us as a law clerk since the summer of 2022. She’s a brilliant young lawyer, a leader among her peers, and an all-around great person. We’re excited that she’s chosen to start her legal career with Griffith Barbee and look forward to her growth and success at the firm,” said managing partner Michael Barbee.
Ellie recently graduated from SMU Dedman School of Law. Ellie served as President of the SMU Law Review Association for the 2023-2024 school term. In the spring of 2023, she worked as a student attorney in the SMU Criminal Defense Clinic, representing clients charged with various misdemeanors and probation violations. The following semester, she served as a Chief Counsel for the clinic.
During her second year of law school, Ellie was inducted into The Barristers, a student service organization founded at SMU Dedman School of Law. Ellie received her undergraduate degree from Rhodes College.
