Ashley Watson | Associate
Ashley Watson practices commercial litigation and intellectual property litigation. Before earning her JD from SMU Dedman School of Law, Ashley worked as a paralegal at Hughes Hubbard & Reed. During law school, she served as Vice-Chair of Student Affairs for the SMU Board of Advocates, Associate Managing Editor of the International Law Review, and Co-Executive Director for the Jackson Walker Moot Court Competition. She also gained practical experience as a student attorney in the SMU Civil Consumer Clinic and later externed with a federal magistrate judge in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
While in law school, Ashley distinguished herself in advocacy, winning the National Championship at the ABA Labor and Employment Mock Trial Competition, SMU’s Top Gun Tournament, and SMU’s fall mock trial competition.
In recognition of her advocacy achievements, Ashley was inducted into the Order of Barristers in her final year.
IRL (In Real Life)
Ashley is a fifth-generation Texas lawyer who loves to travel, try new restaurants and volunteer with T1 International. Off the clock, she’s partial to Tex-Mex, musical theater, and timeless comfort movies like Father of the Bride (the one with Steve Martin, of course) and The Sound of Music.
