Position Overview
We are growing and looking for a highly talented Litigation Legal Assistant to join our team. As a key member of the firm, you will help support our litigation attorneys in IP and commercial litigation and manage a busy case docket.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in helping attorneys manage cases, meet deadlines, communicate with clients, and keep matters moving efficiently from intake through trial.
We are looking for someone who is proactive, highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced litigation environment. The ideal candidate will drive tasks to completion, collaborate well within a team, and have a curious mind.
This position will work closely with our attorneys and report to the firm’s Director of Operations.
Responsibilities
Litigation Support
- Maintain and organize electronic case files
- File and serve documents in Texas state and federal courts
- Monitor court dockets and track litigation deadlines
- Maintain case calendars and docketing systems
- Assist with document collection, review, production, and discovery management
- Prepare exhibits, hearing notebooks, deposition binders, mediation materials, and trial materials
- Coordinate hearings, mediations, depositions, arbitrations, and trial logistics
- Prepare redacted filings, privilege logs, and document indexes
- Coordinate with court personnel, court reporters, litigation vendors, and opposing counsel
- Assist attorneys with case management throughout all stages of litigation
Attorney & Practice Support
- Manage attorney calendars and scheduling
- Track internal deadlines and follow up on action items
- Assist with new client intake, conflict checks, and matter opening
- Communicate professionally with clients and other third parties
- Prepare and finalize correspondence, engagement letters, and routine filings
- Assist with billing support, expense tracking, and time-entry review
- Help maintain and improve firm forms, templates, and workflows
Administrative Support
- Coordinate travel and meeting arrangements
- Manage case-related records and databases
- Assist with special projects and firm initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a litigation legal assistant, legal secretary, or similar role
- Experience with Texas state and federal court e-filing is required
- Strong understanding of litigation procedures, deadlines, and court rules
- Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize competing demands and work independently
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Outlook, and legal practice management software
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required. Relevant professional experience may substitute for formal education.
